Regine Velasquez: She Still Reigns

When we hear the word DIVA... the first name that would top on our minds would be Regine Velasquez. Who doesn't know Regine Velasquez? Even if you ask a little child, if that child has passion for singing, definitely, he/she knows this woman. A woman with great vocal prowess, that is why she was hailed as the Asia's Songbird.

She started to share the spotlight in the music industry when she won as the Grand Champion of "Ang Bagong Kampeon". She was still called Chona velasquez. From then on her star shines even brighter. She only dropped Chona and started to use Regine as her screen name on her first appearance in Penthouse Live in February 16, 1986.

In 1989, she won the Asia-Pacific Singing Contest held in HongKong with You'll Never Walk Alone and And I'm Telling You. Here is the video:

Since then, Regine is the name everyone is talking about, a woman with a powerful voice. She also collaborated with international artist such as Paul Anka, David Hasselhoff, 98 Degrees, Brian McKnight, Mandy Moore, Ronan Keating, Stephen Bishop, Jim Brickman, Peabo Bryson, Jeffrey Osborne, Dave Koz , Lea Salonga, Grasshopper, Coco Lee, Michel Legrand, David Pomeranz, Eduardo Capetillo and Billy Crawford.

In 2000, regine had her R2K concert where she amazed all the guest as she perform "On The Wings Of Love" hanging in mid-air with butterfly wings with a long, flowing gown. Here is the video:

Every medley is a powerful rendition as the Asia's Songbird delivers it. Some of her noted medley were the Basil Valdez Medley, Barry Manilow Medley and the Winning Songs Medley.

If you're going to ask why Regine is a Legend, I'll give you 10 reasons from a video I got and this proves that she is indeed a legend, watch this:
